Since its establishment in 1985, School of Chinese Studies (SCS) has been an important institution responsible for the Chinese instruction of international students as a foreign language. It also functions as Dalian HSK Testing Centre, Multilingual Base for the Promotion of Chinese Language, and the first Education Demonstration Base for foreign students of Liaoning Province. The school recruits students for the programs of short-term and long-term trainings, undergraduate and graduate studies. Nearly 1,500 international students from more than 40 countries study here at SCS annually. When equipped with certain Chinese proficiency, these students can also apply for the access to studying with Chinese students in other faculties.
